ALBUM REVIEW – BABY KEEM

It’s been 5 years since Baby Keem last dropped his breakout album, “The Melodic Blue”. Since then, his audience has been patiently waiting for a new release, which arrived on February 20th, 2026 titled, “Ca$ino”. I’ll admit, I didn’t know much about Baby Keem and his music prior to this record, but after listening to this, I’ll definitely be tuning in for more.
The album blends rapping and melodic tracks together while keeping it short and concise, smoothing the overall flow of the record. It’s clear Keem prioritizes the album experience over capitalizing off of hits, much like his cousin Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick himself appears twice on the record, with features on “Good Flirts” and the following track, “House Money”. I wouldn’t say the features are anything outstanding, but they definitely fit the record and make for a nice addition.
There’s a great balance of introspection and vibes, with tracks like “I am not a lyricist” and “No Blame” mixed in with tracks like “Birds $ the Bees”. There wasn’t a single song on here I disliked or a moment I found boring, and that counts for a lot in a record. My only critiques would be the sometimes basic production and the inability to create a super memorable moment. Good album nevertheless.
LYRICAL INQUIRY’S RATING: 8/10
