SONG REVIEW – LANA DEL REY

Lana Del Rey just dropped a new single titled White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter (quite the lengthy name, I know). And despite all of the hype surrounding her upcoming album, I had no idea this was coming. I randomly came across the song the day after release, and was immediately taken aback.

First off, the sound is incredibly eerie. The production is very minimalistic and even subtly haunting, with nostalgic and cinematic instrumentals building tension throughout. Lana also details her fantasies of living a traditional, simplistic lifestyle in the lyrics. This adds a strange contrast which comes off as unsettling and witchy in the best way possible. I love this experimental and weird side of her, and really hope the rest of the album takes the same route.
