SONG REVIEW – MEGAN MORONEY

If you loved this song, you’re probably very upset by the title of this review, so let me explain. “Wish I Didn’t” is the third single off of Megan Moroney’s upcoming album, “Cloud 9”. With the rise of country-pop in the music industry, Megan currently appeals to a very wide audience with her catchy, inoffensive songs.

The single uses basic pop production and simple lyrics to create a catchy record suited for the charts. Don’t get me wrong, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a fun pop hit, and not every song needs to be lyrically complex or sonically innovative to be good. The main issue I have with this record is that it lacks artistic integrity. When a song is clearly being crafted for commercial success, it loses it’s appeal and influence. However, the song is undeniably a catchy, enjoyable listen, so I’ll give it that.
